Comment: I agree with Bad Larry. I hunted my first trout for 18 months. Finally got two Bows the other day at Houghton's Pond in Milton. Find a ledge, cast over it letting your bait sink, keep the line taught then wait for the tap tap.

Comment: Easiest way to catch trout is with power bait or eggs. Not really the funnest but when trying for your first one best starting point put sliding egg sinker on first tie on a #10 hook(what I use for power eggs fits 2 perfect)12-16in up line from hook put small split shot it will float off bottem and trout can't resist go to ma dov.org check your region for places that are stocked your best bets will be on there they post what has been stocked week before every Friday.

Comment: Jamaica pond gets tremendous fishing pressure. I haven't fished there in 15 years but I lived in JP for 9 years and caught my share of trout on Super Dupers (a spoon, kinda like a Kastmaster). The problem is that you never quite know where the fish will be and of course there is way too much pedestrian traffic to allow for peaceful commiseration with nature.
