Went out today at 6 o'clock to Tack Factory Pond with a couple rods set up for trout. Sent my silver and red Lil Jake out wicked fah and the second it hit the water an absolute monster brook trout nailed it. On 4# Nanofil line, this was a fight to remember. Hauled her in, took a couple pictures, and let her go to fight another day. Only fish I caught in the hour I was there but she was a beauty.
Lure: Lil Jake (silver, red spot)
Weather: Overcast, around 50 degrees, no wind
Retrieve: Moderate, steady
InLine spinnerbaits and spoons are all i use for trout
The Powerbait method works well (or so I've heard) but the only way I've caught trout at this pond was with spoons. Brookies will nail a rainbow trout colored spoon.
what are u using?try power eggs with a slip sinker and a 13 in leader. If you wan't trout that is the easiest way to catch them.
Went there this morning with a buddy... Trying for trout... Caught a baby bass and a bunch of crappies. All I want is a trout! I feel like I'm chasing a unicorn! Mike lets jump in the yaks?
Really. I took my yak there once last November and struggled. It was cold and windy!
Mangaged a tiny bass couple of crappies. Lots of great structure there. I saw all the spots to fish last fall when the water was very low
trout fishing is good on the smaller side and only early in the season. Once summer rolls around it's all panfish all the time. Bass fishing is good near the bushes on the small side of the pond or right off the concrete on the larger side. Highly recommended, it was the only place I fished for the first 2 or so years I was fishing and it's still my favorite.
ive never caught a trout here before. i catch tons of panfish. i havent done to good with the bass in both ponds.
i did catch a chunky bass last fall on the big pond
